About the Artist

Rich Griffith has been painting and drawing for over 40
years. Working primarily in watercolor, acrylics and pastel,
he paints in a realist style and most of his subject matter
consists of local landscapes, machinery and historical
buildings.

Artist Statement:

I have been interested in creating art since early childhood.
Although for me, art has been an avocation rather than a
vocation, I think that has made it more enjoyable.

Living in the northeast  sparked an interest in documenting
architectural features of old buildings and historical
structures. I enjoy painting buildings, cars, trucks, and farm
machinery. The older and more weathered the better since
this is what gives these subjects their unique character.
Northeastern Pennsylvania and upstate New York, provide
a wealth of interesting structures and scenery to inspire any
artist.

I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful and diverse area.
Many of the buildings I have painted over the years have
been demolished to make way for new structures. I am glad
I had the opportunity to record them.
The artist's work has been included in private and
corporate collections throughout the northeast. Griff's art
was featured on the cover of
Autumn in the County, a
Times Shamrock Weekly Group special edition,
Susquehanna County.
